AliExpress Tracking: How to Easily Track Your Package?

Tracking your AliExpress package isn’t always very accurate. Since the delivery time on the site is quite long, when placing an order, we often wonder where our package is. Tracking is done from your order space, which you can access by clicking here. We will explain this in the following chapters.

In this article, I will detail how to track your AliExpress package from the moment you place the order until it reaches your home. First, I will briefly explain the available shipping methods (cost/time). Then, I will show you how to get your tracking number and the different options to track your package.

Different Shipping Methods

As I explained in this article, there are many shipping methods on AliExpress. From well-known European carriers like DHL, FedEx, EMS, and UPS, to Chinese carriers like Yanwen, China Post, ePacket, or even AliExpress Standard Shipping. When placing your order, you’ll have the option to choose the shipping method:

As you can see in an article like this, each method has a different cost and delivery time. If you opt for a European carrier like DHL, shipping costs are much higher (up to €40 for a phone), but delivery times are usually shorter. Your package will be delivered to your delivery address or to a pickup point. However, if you opt for one of these carriers, you’ll likely have to pay customs duties, as these are not included in the shipping cost. The price of these customs duties is significant. Therefore, I would recommend choosing the Chinese carriers instead.

AliExpress Standard Shipping

Don’t buy on AliExpress if you’re looking for fast delivery. Therefore, it’s better to choose a Chinese carrier and the AliExpress Standard Shipping method. It’s the basic shipping method offered by most sellers for free above a certain price (quite low). You can compare delivery times when choosing the method and select the fastest one among the Chinese carriers (ePacket, AliExpress Standard Shipping, China Post, etc.).

Delivery time varies. For small items, it can take between 15 days and over a month. For larger items, it’s usually faster (in my experience) between 2 and 3 weeks. 15 days is the minimum delivery time on AliExpress for a warehouse not located in Europe. With AliExpress Standard Shipping, in most cases, no customs duties are added. However, there are still exceptions.

If you opt for this option with free shipping, once it arrives in England, your package will be delivered by La Poste (not Chronopost) with home delivery or to your post office if you’re not present.

How to Get Your Tracking Number on AliExpress?

Once you have placed your order, access your “my orders” page (accessible from this link). On this page, you’ll find the details of all your ordered items:

To find the AliExpress tracking number of one of your orders, you have several options:

  1. Click on “View details” to the right of your order number.
  2. Once on the order details page, the tracking number will appear and you can obtain it: Hover over the “Tracking number” button. When you do, the tracking number will appear.
  3. Click on the “Tracking number” button. The AliExpress order tracking page will open, and you’ll have access not only to the tracking number

Tracking States on AliExpress

There are different methods to track your package. Unfortunately, none of them is perfect. To ensure the best possible tracking of your order, you’ll likely need to check the tracking status by comparing sites. You’ll receive a confirmation email at each tracking stage: from the shipment of your order to the confirmation of package reception.

Initially, we can identify three important delivery states:

Package shipment. Package departure from the country of origin. Package arrival in the destination country. Obviously, we won’t consider the tracking status “Delivery made,” which is the most important in the delivery process.

Package shipment can take between 1 and 8 business days (sometimes more during holiday periods). If you can’t find a tracking number in your order details, it means the package hasn’t been shipped yet. Once the seller has prepared the package, they’ll provide a “Tracking number” on AliExpress. From that moment, you can start tracking your item.

State: Departure from the Country of Origin

Once the seller ships the package, it will travel between different warehouses before being shipped to England. From the moment it leaves China, whether by plane or by boat, trying to track it in detail is useless: it’s impossible! In fact, it’s impossible to have detailed tracking in flight or at sea… The next tracking status will be its arrival in the destination country. Note that your package may pass through an intermediate European country before being shipped to England.

Various AliExpress Tracking Sites

Check on AliExpress

In the previous section, I explained how to get the tracking number by clicking the “Tracking number” button on your order page. From this page, you have access to package tracking provided by the AliExpress site. This is the simplest way to know where your package is. Additionally, the information is available in French, which isn’t always the case on tracking sites. However, the level of AliExpress tracking isn’t always detailed. Therefore, you should use one of the following methods to try to get more information about the package.

Check on a third-party site

There are other sites that allow you to track your package on AliExpress. I have listed two that are particularly effective:

  • ParcelsApp
  • Track17

These sites sometimes offer more details about package tracking. You’ll be able to know if your package has passed through an intermediate country or not. When AliExpress tracking indicates “Arrival in the destination country,” it could be France or an intermediate country. On these sites, you’ll get this type of information. Sometimes, tracking isn’t in French, so use your browser to translate it.
